Look Ma, no hands!

We spent a long weekend down on Logos this month -- actually, Barry stayed for a full week to work on some projects, while I had to come home for an important week at work (our latest software release went to its first customer and I was on the first-line support team).

Motoring down the Neuse River on the way to Bonner Bay. There was a large barge up ahead you can barely see. No wind whatsoever, so we didn't raise the sails.

We anchored out for one night in Bonner Bay off the Bay River, which proved to be a completely secluded anchorage and very peaceful, minus an evening storm with a nearby waterspout sighting. Fortunately it didn't come our way and suck us and Logos up into the sky in its whirling vortex....

Barry put a kellet on to help prevent the rode from wrapping around our wing keel in a wind shift. It was mostly for practice and probably not needed, but good to try anyway.

After I left, Barry completed his installation of a washdown pump that will make getting the sticky Neuse mud off our anchor, ground tackle, and foredeck much easier in the future. He also began installing our new Raymarine autopilot, only to have a part of the wheel drive break off. It will have to be sent back to the manufacturer for replacement. It's always something!

Heading back to the marina on Sunday - I definitely shoulda worn a hat! Another of Barry's projects - an outboard motor mount he'd made out of starboard. Super nice and saved us a lot of $ over buying one.
