Paisley returns to "Camp Folly"
Paisley enjoyed another delightful few days at "Camp Folly", my Mom and step-dad's wonderful place up in the NC mountains. I'm so glad we got to visit again before heading to Belize!

Leeds' First Birthday Party
Paisley, ever the popular girl, got an invitation to Leeds the chocolate lab's 1st birthday party on Sunday, held in a dog park at a nearby apartment complex. As her owners, we got to tag along and enjoy the fun. In addition to the other usual Meadowmont play group (Cayman the Viszla and Ruby the Boxer), a few other dogs that happened to be at the dog park that day got in on the action. We had a perfect day for it with highs in the 70s.
There were two other Bostons there, one of whom (a small male) took a distinct liking to Paisley. Poor Paisley was assaulted from every angle, and I'm sure had no idea what he was so interested in! It was pretty humorous as Paisley is spayed, and the tiny male had been neutered, but something in his brain still told him that humping a cute female was a necessary thing to do. Some of the photos Barry took were R-rated, so I have had to censor them to keep this blog family friendly! :-)
Here are some photos and videos from the party. A great time was had by all!
Another video showing Paisley doing a lot of running - she's one of the fastest in any crowd!

Paisley ringing in Springtime
So, it's not quite officially the first day of spring, but since we've touched 80 degrees here already (though we're still up and down a lot - today was chilly and windy!) it's time to welcome springtime.
This fantastic action shot that Barry snapped was enhanced by the owner of the Boston Terrier Yahoo list I am on, "V", and I thought it was so cute I wanted to post it here for my friends and family to see. It's currently gracing the home page of the Yahoo group for this month. Paisley has no idea what a star she is!

Doggie Play Group
We recently met some super friendly fellow dog owners in the complex who had found a place to let their furkids off leash to chase balls and sticks. Paisley was excited to join their little group and made fast friends. She's the only "little dog" in the group, but holds her own pretty well with Cayman the Viszla and Leeds the Lab. Ruby the Boxer has come once, but her owner is very busy, so she doesn't get to play as much as the others.
Here's the main "play yard" in the apartment complex:

Fun Times at Camp Folly
Paisley always loves her trip to Mom and Dal's mountain home in Ashe County (The Folly), which we renamed "Camp Folly" during Paisley's first visit, because of the many activities she enjoyed there. It completely wears her out, but she is in doggie heaven running around, hunting for chipmunks, digging, rooting around, and going on long walks. A bit too chilly for a dip in the river this time, though!

Paisley with her favorite toys
Paisley's "Aunt Vicki" (my good friend who happens to be the daughter of Paisley's breeder) came over to see Paisley the other day and snapped this photo. Paisley is carefully guarding her Kitty that she's had since we brought her home, and her new favorite ball is behind her. As she would say, Take these toys and die!

Paisley Goes to Camp Folly
This weekend we visited my mother and step-dad at their mountain vacation home. They call it The Folly. Paisley now calls it Camp Folly, after the excellent time she had. She waded right into the New River like she'd been swimming her entire life (she hasn't, ever, despite being a great little boat dog), and retrieved a wonderful pipe that she played with the rest of the weekend. She ran and ran, with sticks, pipe, and nothing at all. She chased (and almost caught - eek!) a chipmunk, she took long walks with Barry and me, she splashed in mud puddles.
Bath time - not so much fun
She is now on our sofa sleeping it off, where she has been since about five minutes after we got home three hours ago. Camp Folly was a grand time for this enthusiastic camper!
